About The Advanced YouLaser Treatment

The Quanta YouLaser MT represents a quantum leap in anti-ageing laser technology. The YouLaser Fractional Mixed Technology is a state of the art ablative and non-ablative fractional laser, offering unrivalled results in laser resurfacing. Melbourne Laser & Aesthetics Centre clinicians have pioneered in laser resurfacing technology for over 20 years.

Skin Resurfacing Technology

The laser utilises an innovative mixed laser technology offering exceptional results for skin resurfacing, skin rejuvenation, skin tightening and scar removal, it emits BOTH fractional CO2 ablative and 1540nm non-ablative laser wavelengths combining to create the best results with little to no downtime.

The two wavelengths 10,600nm Co2 and 1540nm can be emitted sequentially or simultaneously or individually, maximising the benefits of both these gold standard technologies in laser resurfacing. Melbourne Laser & Aesthetic Centre clinicians can determine the number of treatments required for best results, although there is no limit to tailoring the treatment or to the extent of resurfacing available.

The 1540nm non-ablative fractional laser creates deep microchannels within the skin whilst the ablative CO2 10,600nm removes the tiny ablative dots of tissue. This technology harnesses the benefits of the non-ablative 1540 and the ablative 10,600nm CO2 lasers to change the surface as well as the deeper collagen layer. The procedure removes microchannels of the damaged tissue stimulating the skin’s natural repair processes to regenerate new stimulating new collagen, tightens the skin, repairs damage caused by ageing and sun damage and improves other skin imperfections.

How does the YouLaser compare to other fractional laser treatments?

There is no comparison to other fractional technologies as the unique combination of laser wavelengths offers a far greater effect than any other laser on the market today. This combination offers the best results by simultaneously resurfacing the skin and inducing dermal changes with no downtime (depending on requirement and treatment settings.

How many treatments are recommended?

Most patients see significant improvement after just one mixed technology laser resurfacing treatment. However, depending on the skin or scar condition and the laser settings used, 1 to 3 treatments may be required.

Who is a viable candidate for mixed technology treatment?

Patients with light to medium skin tones with ageing conditions or scars will benefit from YouLaser treatment.

Is this form of laser resurfacing suitable for treating the body and face?

Any part of the face or body can be treated. It can be used to treat the full face or can be localised to the area such as wrinkles around the eyes or mouth areas, where the first signs of ageing often begin. It is uniquely effective for stretchmarks, mummy tummy, back of the hands, neck, décolletage and scars anywhere on the body.

What does the treatment feel like?

Most patients describe the treatment as a series of fast zaps. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area prior to treatment to prevent discomfort.

How soon will I see results after my treatment?

Many patients comment on an obvious improvement one week after treatment, however new collagen and remodelling begins to show 6 weeks to 3 months following treatment. Results continue to improve for months after treatment.

How soon can I apply makeup?

Depending on the treatment settings, with mild treatment makeup can generally be applied the following day. With aggressive treatments, more healing time is required, in which case, 2-5 days post-treatment.

Are there any restrictions on my daily activity after treatment?

After treatment, the skin appears sunburned and may be mildly swollen. Patients generally report little or no discomfort post-treatment, however, vigorous exercise is not recommended for 24-48 hours. During post care, patients apply post-treatment balm to the skin for four to five days and should limit sun exposure and wear protective clothing.
