Anti-Wrinkle Injections

What is the difference between anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler?

Anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles which form wrinkles. The anti-wrinkle injections work best on wrinkles in motion – those which form due to expression but disappear when no expression is made. There are various types of Dermal fillers and various consistencies. Dermal fillers replace volume loss, add support to areas of wrinkles and are used to enhance the contours of the face.

Both types of cosmetic injections can be used-

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to relax the muscles that produce wrinkles. Lines that are formed by frowning and squinting produce outer eye wrinkles and frownlines, these are referred to as Dynamic Wrinkles as they are created in motion. Over time however they become permanent wrinkles if left untreated. By using anti-wrinkle injections there is a gradual smoothing of the lines, improving appearance and maintaining a more youthful appearance. Once the muscle is treated it relaxes and stops the wrinkles from forming. These injections take effect gradually over the following few days to with the full effect becoming obvious within 7 to 10 days. The treatment can last up to 4 months, however many patients report having less lines even after it has worn off as they appear to have learnt to use those muscles less.
