Ultimate Mixed Laser technology for Laser Hair Removal

What is the latest Laser Hair Removal technology?

The latest addition to the artillery of laser hair removal is the innovative Duetto MT (Mixed Technology) laser hair removal system. It represents a quantum leap in laser hair removal treatment.

How does mixed laser hair removal technology work?

The laser technology offers two lasers in one; a dual laser that emits the best gold standard lasers in laser hair removal; the Long pulsed Nd:YAG (1064 nm) laser as well as the Alexandrite (755 nm) laser. Unlike other laser hair removal technologies that emit only a single wavelength at a time i.e. Alexandrite or Nd YAG alone, the Duetto MT emits both lasers simultaneously.

What are the benefits of mixed laser hair removal treatment?

The blend of the two lasers offers superior results in laser hair removal. The Duetto MT Laser hair removal system uses the latest in mixed laser hair removal technology to address the limitations of each of the gold standard lasers alone. Mixed Laser technology allows the clinician to simultaneously deliver a mix of both Alex (755 nm) and Nd:YAG (1064 nm) in varying proportions. Therefore the percentage of each laser can be adjusted to cater for all skin and hair colours and textures. Mixing the Alexandrite with the Nd: YAG lasers in various amounts allows for increases in efficacy as well as safety. Both lasers emitted simultaneously absorb into several targets in and around the hair follicle not merely the pigment thus obtaining optimal results for every individual.

Sebaceous Hyperplasia- Get rid of unsightly bumps

Sebaceous hyperplasia is the benign enlargement of the sebaceous (oil) gland that results in small bumps resembling a crater with a depressed centre. These sebaceous hyperplasia bumps can appear white or pale yellow in colour and most commonly develop on the forehead, nose and cheeks. It is unclear why the enlargement occurs, however it appears to develop in people who have oily skin and larger pores and they seem to increasingly appear in midlife 40’s onwards.

The bumps can be unsightly and people often wonder how or even if they can be removed. Treatment is usually simple, it involves a consultation with an experienced Dermal Clinician who assesses the sebaceous hyperplasia and decides the best course of action;

To remove or reduce the size of the bump, your Dermal Clinician may use one of the following procedures, including:

Fine needle diathermy; electrocautery using a fine electrical probe

This is the preferred method as it precisely penetrates deep into the affected area to eliminate the problem at the cause without invading surrounding normal tissue.

and/or

Laser removal; several lasers can be used to treat the lesions

Fractional CO2 and 1540nm resurfacing can be useful in smoothing out the skin texture.

CO2 is often used also

and then on-going application of topical products such a retinoid is recommended.

Sebaceous hyperplasia can be a stubborn and frustrating condition, but smooth, blemish-free skin is possible!

WINTER SKIN MAKEOVER

Brrrr! The big chill has arrived in Melbourne.... As some people start to hibernate, others plan their anti-ageing regime; diet, exercise, supplementation and facial rejuvenation. It’s time for your winters’ resolution, a skin makeover. As there is significantly less ultra violet light, it is the optimal time to have intensive laser treatments and to boost your skin with high strength cosmeceutical skincare products.

Many rural and interstate clients travel to Melbourne to have their YouLaser MT fractional treatments done at this time of year. Laser resurfacing with the state of the art YouLaser MT (Mixed laser technology - Co2 & 1540nm) offers exceptional results in skin rejuvenation and skin tightening. Revealing a clearer complexion, tighter and a more radiant appearance in time for the warmer climate and holiday period is the goal for many.

It is also an opportune time to boost your skin with higher strength Retinols and Retinoids. Vitamin A is THE skin Vitamin. It is recognised for its anti-aging effects; in regulating cellular function and differentiation, stimulating cellular turnover, collagen production and improving pigmentation and texture. The Biopelle range has effective Retinol serums in 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% strengths.

As the cold temperatures set in, it is also important to protect our skin from the dryness and dehydration that consequently follows. The best moisturizer for the skin will generally depend on which type of skin you have, however the new Biopelle Tensage Advanced cream moisturizer and Tensage Soothing cream moisturizer are popular choices as they calm and protect the skin using Bio-repair factors. In the evening, add Biopelle Tensage ampoules or serum with Bio-repair factors for extra hydration, repair and rejuvenation.

Your face is your trade mark..... you deserve to wear it with pride!
